The Northern Dodecanese is an archipelago in the southern Aegean Sea with a deep, impressive, and diverse character. For example, the island of Kalymnos is very popular with sponge divers. Patmos, on the other hand, is known for pilgrimages and offers beautiful, historic hiking trails. In Lipsi, however, you can still meet local fishermen today. Leros offers unforgettable, picturesque bays, windmills, and Knights Hospitaller castles. Not to be forgotten is the multifaceted island of Kos – it offers culture, history, and entertainment, leaving nothing to be desired.

The islands are a blend of the magical and mythical worlds, rich in history and culture. A world where the sun paints its pictures and the sea provides life.

Summary:

Location: Most Popular Greek Dodecanes Islands.
Group retreat: As a yoga teacher, in or group organizer. Charter a yoga cruising yacht for your own group retreat.
Group size: Minimum 12.
Accommodation: Bodrum construction 25-50 meter gulet wooden yacht with 8-12 cabins, each with toilet.
Daily yoga time: 2 x yoga classes per day, 70-90 min each morning and evening in the secluded bays on board or on land.
Embarkation: on Saturday until 7 pm.
Disembarkation: on Saturday at 9 am / Entry to the port: Friday evening at 7 pm.
Destination airport: Kos or Bodrum.

Daily Yogacruising Program:

  • 7:00 Start the day with a herbal tea or hot water with fresh ginger/lemon and enjoy the sea view.
  • 07:30-9:00: Yoga practice to start the day. Enjoying the sea after yoga.
  • 09:30-10:30: comprehensive, enjoyable breakfast brunch.
  • 11:00-17:00 Lunch: delicious local fruit. Sailing, swimming, sunbathing, relaxation, excursions.
  • 18:00 second yoga session. (Times vary by season).
  • 19:30 Swimming in the Salt Sea.
  • 20:00 Dinner together on board - lovingly prepared and served by the ship's cook.
  • 22:00 End the day with a glimpse of the starry sky in mild weather.
  • 24:00 Sleeping on the deck under the stars. Bring a sleeping bag if you want to sleep on the deck.

ITINERARY OF YOGA AND SAILING TRIP "example"

Day 1: Arrival in Bodrum port

  • Book a flight to Kos or Bodrum. You can easily reach us with scheduled and charter airlines from all major European airports.
    Check-in is by 12:00 PM in Bodrum, followed by a welcome drink and some information about the upcoming trip.
    We spend the first night in the bay near Kalimnos.

Day 2: Cruise to Leros Islands

  • Leros Ayia Marina - Panteli Bay
    7:00 AM: Yoga on board. Breakfast together during the crossing to Leros.
    10:30 AM (approx.) Arrival at the port of Leros, "Ayia Marina."
    11:30 AM: Hiking excursion: to the medieval castle with a visit to this historic site, as well as to the six windmills. Afterwards, hike back to Panteli Bay.
    We anchor in Panteli Bay, in the pretty little village of Ayia Marina, whose impressive Crusader castle sits on a hill overlooking the town. Ayia Marina and the nearby town of Platanos attract attention primarily for their neoclassical buildings and peaceful village atmosphere. The impressive "Kastro," a knight's castle, stands out with an inhabited church dating back to the 14th century.
    6:00 PM: Yoga at the windmills or on board. Dinner and overnight stay in Panteli Bay.

Day 3: Cruise to the island of Lipsi

Morning: Yoga on board
Cruise or, if necessary, sail to the small fishing island of Lipsi (depending on the weather).
The small island offers good hiking opportunities or hidden coves for lounging.
Evening: Yoga on board or by the sea. Dinner and overnight stay in the bay.

Day 4: Departure to Patmos Island

Morning: Yoga by the sea or on board.
After breakfast, we sail to Patmos. In the main harbor of Skala, with the magnificent Monastery of St. John and its towering medieval fortress, we disembark for a historical exploration tour – a must for history buffs.
Historical Background
Patmos was known as an island of exile under Roman rule. The cleric St. John was banished here at the time. He stayed for two years and wrote The Enlightenment and Apocalypse "under the influence of visions." Patmos later developed into a place of pilgrimage, and in 1088, the Monastery of St. John was founded in Chora (about 2 km from Skala), which still exists today.
Our time will be devoted primarily to the various aspects of the Monastery of St. John. This includes the fortresses, the Founder's Chapel (19th century) with impressive icons, the Chapel of the Theotokos with 12th-century frescoes, the refectory, the treasury, and the most important "monastic collection" in Greece outside of Mount Athos.

Hiking to the seat of Panayia Koumna (a group of monastic cells with a garden)
Hiking to the Cave of St. Anne (a sacred site where St. John dictated the Revelation to his disciples on the way to Chora)
Evening: Yoga on board, shared dinner, and overnight stay in the port of Patmos.

Day 5: Leros Island for Relaxation

Leros Fishing Village - South Bay, Kokali and Gourna Bays.
Morning: Yoga on deck.
After breakfast, cruise to the southern bay of Leros. The bay has a small, tranquil fishing harbor. There are two chapels on either side of the bay.
Evening: Yoga on land in one chapel at sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in the bay.

Day 6: Leros - Patmos

Morning: Yoga on land in the other chapel.
After breakfast, we sail to the enchanting island of Kalymnos. Kalymnos's special appeal lies in its fantastic bays and spectacular rocky outcrops, which offer a peaceful and secluded setting for relaxation. We anchor at the hidden cliffs of Vahti Harbor on the east side of the island. In addition to the early and more recent Orthodox basilicas near Vahti, 15 km away in the town of Chorio, you can also enjoy an exciting climbing tour to a medieval Crusader castle with unforgettable views.
Evening: Yoga in a cove on board. Dinner and overnight stay in the bay.

Day 7: Journey to the Island of Kos

Morning: Last yoga class on board.
After breakfast, we depart for Kos. We anchor in Kos's main harbor, right next to the fortress of the Knights of St. John. Palm-lined cobblestone streets, lush vegetation, and historical monuments are nearby and can be reached on foot from the harbor. Historically, Kos was the most important center of ancient medicine—the home of Hippocrates and his famous Asclepion. This is where the foundations of medicine as we know it today were laid.
Late evening cruise to Bodrum. Overnight in the bay.
Evening: Last dinner together in a cozy atmosphere on board.

Day 8: Breakfast on the boat and cruise to the harbor. Disembarkation at 12:00 p.m

 

  • You live on our yachts that have a length of 25 to 55 meters (2 or 3 Mast). 
  • On board your ship you have an experienced, always friendly and always courteous German-English speaking team, consisting of a captain, cook & boatswain. 
  • The crew guarantees you an excellent service.
  • The ship’s cook will prepare a varied breakfast, lunch and dinner for you, always using fresh local produce.
  • Each cabin with shower & toilet. In the cabin you will find towels only for use in the cabin.

  • 8 Day / 7 night stays / from – until harbor on the Yacht with Crew (captain, chef, sailor).
  • Vegetarian half board: 7 x times  Brunch – breakfast and 5 x dinner on board (2 x dinner will be in a local Taverna or restaurant not included).
  • At lunchtime we will serve you small snack & fresh fruits.
  • We provide you fresh brewed tea, herbal tea and fresh ginger tea.
  • Yoga sessions each morning and in the evening for 70- 90 Min. on five days during the week. The Yoga sessions will start on Sunday evening and ends on friday in the morning.
  • High quality yogaequipment is provided: mats, blocks, belts, pillows, blankets.
  • Yacht insurance (we advise you to take out your own individual travel insurance).
